Microblading Aftercare

Proper aftercare is essential for achieving long-lasting and beautiful results with your new brows. It is important to follow these instructions for at least 7 days after the procedure to enhance and maintain your microblading results. Failure to follow these instructions can have a significant impact on the outcome. Avoid getting anything on your brows, including water, except for cleansing as instructed. It is okay to get them wet in the shower; just remember to blot them dry immediately. Use sterile gauze to blot for the first few hours to remove any excess fluids if needed.

Cleansing

It is recommended to wash and apply aftercare ointment on the eyebrows every 1-3 hours. Clean lightly with slightly damp Q-tips and mild or green soap (non-scented orange Dial soap is a suitable choice) if necessary. Gently repeat the application of ointment during the first 2 days.

When washing, be gentle and use very little water. It’s important not to saturate brows with water as they heal better when kept dry. After the first 2 days, you can lightly apply balm for dryness. Avoid picking or rubbing the brows. Let the flakes fall off naturally, or you could remove the colour and cause scarring.

Avoid immersing the treated area in water, swimming in saltwater or chlorinated pools, using saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms, or sunbeds for 10 days.

It is recommended to refrain from exercising for 7 days. Upon resuming exercise, wearing a sweatband can help prevent sweat on the brow area.

It is essential to avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight and to use sunscreen after it has completely healed (30 days) to prevent fading from the sun.

After the treatment, eyebrows may scab or become slightly dry. If they itch, it is important not to scratch them.

During the healing process, patting your wet eyebrows dry with a towel instead of rubbing them is important.

Refraining from applying daily skincare products directly on the eyebrows is recommended.

It is recommended that chemical peels or other medical procedures be undertaken only after the healing process is complete.

It is essential to consider that touch-ups cannot be scheduled within 6 weeks before a microblading eyebrows procedure.

It is important not to apply makeup directly on the brows during the healing process, which typically lasts for 10 days.

Refraining from touching, rubbing, picking, or scratching your eyebrows after treatment and during the healing process is crucial.

Microblading Eyebrows

What to expect?

After the microblading eyebrows procedure, your brows may initially look bolder than usual. During the healing process, they may darken, and some flaking/shedding of skin near the brow area may occur. This is normal and temporary. The microblading strokes may appear lighter or disappear as the skin heals and sheds. This is because of the protective layer of skin over the pigment. The pigment will reappear after 4-6 weeks but may be lighter than immediately after the procedure.
